Man, the Violent Femmes were fugly... but good for this album. They're one of those bands that were pregnant with ideas all at once at the beginning of their career. Then after they let the gates loose, the creative stuff just dried up, hey?

ReplyDeleteBut yeah - this is great. I think Gordon Gano was only about 20 when this was filmed. Crazy. Just crazy.
Incidentally, my Mom used to let me listen to whatever tapes I wanted to in the car and this is one of the few that she actually liked. I'm pretty sure she wasn't listening to the lyrics.
Years later, as a side note, my Mother became a big Chumbawamba fan. True story.
