  1. Aw, that made my day. What a song, huh? Whataband!

You know I have a couple of Canada Day stories here:

    1) I saw Sloan play Olympic Plaza one year for.... SNOW JAM! They had this super annnoying announcer guy who's commenting on the snowboarding challange in the middle of the summer. Hmmm... Snow Jam, for some reason I'm thinking that may have not been Canada Day. Ah well, the show was particularly good, me having seen them for Navy Blues, Between the Bridges as well as that crummy Pretty Together album.

    2) Okay, real Canada Day story. I told my pals that I'd hold a table on the patio at the Ship and they showed up 2 hours late! I almost had to fight a guy over that table. Then when they arrived, me old mucker Lloyd Brawn embarrassed me in front of a waitress I had a thing for and made a big stick because they only served small pizzas and wouldn't make a big one. Thus... I never got laid.

Also, got a bit a lump in my throat when I saw Leanne... she's a keeper. Gem and I want you to tell her how beautiful she looks... excuse me... I've got a lash in my eye.

  2. Also, at the Ship there was a rousing version of "Oh Canada" belted out at 4 in the afternoon. I can honestly say that it was almost magical... the first time. Then I had to hear it like 8 more times that day

  3. Great commenting, Gary. I showed Leanne and then she got all misty. Aw, geez.

I can safely say I've never had a memorable July 1st. Save for the time DOA played my parents' annual barbeque and Bruno Gerussi drank too much Cranada Day punch and passed out in the laundry room.
