Whaaaaa? Was Freddy for hire for a few years? I seem to recall he was also involved with DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince.
ReplyDeleteHow could Robert Englend turn this charachter into such a joke? Plus, his rhymes is weak! Never, I mean never, begin a line with, "My name is Freddy and I'm here to say..."

You are indeed thinking of the 1987 classic "Disorderlies" which is probably one of those movies that everyone during that era thought they saw, but never actually did.
ReplyDeleteAlso, my favourite rap appropriation trope is the "...my name is --- and I'm here to say..." I'd really like to find out who started that as I'm sure it was miles away from rap and hip hop. I'm thinking probably the same exec. that came up with "Rappin' Granny"
