Hayden - "Dynamite Walls"

  1. Ahh, so good. I know we joke about Hayden a lot, but some of the songs on this album are pretty magic. I don't know how it happened that I saw him 4 times in one year in Calgary, but there you go. A little over kill, I think.

Were you with me at one of the Night Gallery gig and this obnoxious guy shouted "Trees Lounge" after every song? What a goon.

Quick question: what was your favorite gig at the Night Gallery?

  2. Yes, I was there at that gig. It was also there where I bought this hand-printed "limited edition" copy of Skyscraper National Park before its 'official' release a few months later.

Just listened to the whole thing the other day.. pretty good. Pretty...pretty good.

Um, best Night Gallery gig? Well, there's been a few over the years, but tonight I'll go with Jad Fair and Phono-Comb - circa '95 or something.

  3. Jad Fair? Whoa. I thought you hated him. Cool. My favorite happened about 6 years ago, just before I moved to Vancouver. Destroyer and Black Mountain, the only Destroyer gig I've enjoyed. Plus Steve McBean on his own and despite the fact that the audience totally ignored that fact the he was playing, me and Jeremy Curry loved it. Stupid Calgarian.
