Rain Machine - "Give Blood"

  1. This hasn't been getting too many good reviews but I think that loads of people jumped on the TV on the Radio bandwagon without actually listening to them. Every music blog and magazine raved about "Return to Cookie Mountain". I thought it was a super but rather dense record and was suprised that people were into it as much as they said they were. I became very suspicious... Then their last crummy Prince-like "Dear Science" came out and suddenly all of the reviews seemed to start with the phrase, "After the disappointing and dense album "Return to Cookie Mountain"..." What? Come on. It's like people pretended to be into them. Huh, huh, posers.

I dunno. But this looks good.

  2. Well, I never really liked them to begin with. I saw them a couple of times in the V-City before they "blew up" and "went on tv."

Fast-forward a couple of years. Stuck with $10 left on a Future Shop gift card - what am I going to do? But some tv cables? Not today. "Return to Cookie Mountain," please.

I ended up liking it. Not loving it, but feeling it. Dig? Fast-forward another couple of years. Order "Dear Science" based on its single. End up really liking it. Really really liking it!

I heard an interview with this Rain Machine dude the other day. He was half asleep, but I was picking up what he was putting down. Seems like a decent fellow. I probably won't buy this record, mind you. Or maybe I will. Maybe I will buy it.
