I don't think so, Gravytrain. I don't even think anywhere west of Toronto had heard much about him (if such place exists. LOFL!)
A real shame.
At any rate, he's always held a bit of a soft spot in this ol' Pac-Western's heart, mind you.
And yes - I did bring this EP to record club, but I'm not sure if I played this track.
Side story: I recall he was supposed to open for the Superfriendz in Lethbridge circa '94 or something - at a bar called Cadillacs, but I don't think the show ever happened. I think they had a dismal showing in Calgary and scrapped the rest of their "West Coast" tour.
I also believe I was scheduled to interview the Superfriendz for my radio show at CKUL. That would have been my first. Alas, it wasn't meant to be. I think it's probably for the best as I'm recalling some of the lame questions I was going to ask.
Who was the first band I ever interviewed, you ask? Well, keep watching!
Did the world (outside Canada) ever give Al Tuck a real chance?
ReplyDeleteAlso, did you bring this to Record Club?
