Oh yeah, this was just about the last stop point on my Kinks trip. Some people say to not believe the hype, that there is some good stuff on their 70's album but I can tell you, there is so little. If you want to buy 10 albums just to find 10 pretty okay songs, it's your money, matey.
ReplyDeleteI quite like Percy, the soundtrack they did. There's a few stunners on there.
I was actually getting quite tired of the Village-Greeny-toss-yr-teabag-into-the-rosebush Kinks stuff that when I revisted "Apeman," I momentarily thought this was their golden era. But, you know, it kind of outstays its welcome after a few refrains.
